Why we built Hobartlink — and who it's really for

A Brisbane team that got tired of duct-taping apps together and decided to build the automation layer they wished existed.

Where Hobartlink started

In 2021, three operations consultants working out of Brisbane noticed the same pattern in every client engagement: capable small and mid-sized businesses drowning in copy-paste tasks that connected their software tools. A sales rep would close a deal in HubSpot, then manually create an invoice in Xero, then send a Slack message to the fulfilment team, then update a shared Google Sheet. Each step took two minutes; across ten reps doing ten deals a day, that was three hours of daily labour producing zero business value. Hobartlink was built to automate exactly that kind of workflow — not with bespoke code, but with a configurable platform any operations manager could operate. We launched with 12 connectors and 40 beta users from our professional network. Three years later, we support 150+ integrations and more than 400 active workspaces across Australia, with the majority of our customers in retail, professional services, and construction.

How we work and what we actually deliver

Hobartlink is a self-serve platform first. New customers sign up, connect their apps using our visual workflow builder, and run their first automation — typically within the same session. Our Brisbane-based support team is available weekdays from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm AEST for chat and email queries; the median first-response time is under 90 minutes on business days. Enterprise customers get a named account manager who joins onboarding calls and reviews workflow architecture before go-live. We're honest about what we don't do: Hobartlink is an automation and integration platform, not a data warehouse, not a BI tool, and not a replacement for purpose-built CRM or accounting software. We make your existing tools work together more reliably and with less human intervention. If your underlying processes are broken, automating them will surface the problems faster — which is useful, but we won't pretend automation is a substitute for process design. We also operate within the capability limits of the APIs we connect to: if a third-party API has rate limits or outages, those affect your workflows too, and we're transparent about that in our status page and documentation.
